Poverty of Spirit

"Come in, Lord, for it is cold and dark out there. Come in, for it is sometimes cold and dark in here too. We need Your smile, Your light, Your heart beating among us. Help us to accept peacefully the adversities of our state in life. Thank You for the various ways in which we experience our powerlessness, our insecurity, the weakness of our creaturehood. Grant us the grace of love of the poor, detachment from riches, and a desire to live in perfect trust in Your providence. Give each of us the heart of a child. Amen."
