Concentrate Elsewhere

“Do not depend on the hope of results. You may have to face the fact that your work will be apparently worthless and even achieve no result at all, if not perhaps results opposite to what you expect. As you get used to this idea, you start more and more to concentrate not on the results, but on the value, the rightness, the truth of the work itself.”

I think we need to realize that a truly worthwhile work will produce results, although we may not see them. The biblical principle of sowing and reaping as found in Galatians 6 gives us hope that our work is not futile as long as we are truly in Christ and doing His will. As in prayer, if we do things according to His will and not our own, we will reap if we do not lose heart. Without hope, there's no point.
