Surrender and Personality
“When Jesus said, in Gethsemane, ‘Not my will, but yours, be done’, that would have been cheap if He had had little or no will of His own to surrender. The words would have been meaningless and the gift would have been impossible if He had not had a will of His own to surrender, a human personality to submit. The greater the surrender, the greater the individual personality can be. And the greater the individual personality, the greater the surrender can be.”
