Proverbs 25:2

(Found here)

“It is the glory of God to conceal a thing,
but the glory of kings is to search things out.”

Some thoughts on what the above means after doing some research:
  • God’s greatness is shown in the hiddenness and depth of His wisdom and providence.
  • Divine mysteries invite humility and reverence rather than pride and should be humbly adored.
  • Human rulers—and by extension wise people—are honored when they diligently seek truth, justice, and understanding.
  • Human rulers and wise people should carefully search for truth and administer justice prudently.
  • This verse reflects a biblical theme that wisdom requires patient searching and discernment, while God always transcends human understanding.
The commentary I found also connects this verse to the idea that:
  • God governs the universe with wisdom too deep for humanity to fully to grasp,
  • while earthly rulers must labor to uncover facts and govern rightly.
