"Last year an American Catholic bishop commissioned one of the priests of his diocese to write up recommendations for ways to increase the number of men seeking to fulfill a clerical vocation. The priest was young but wise and holy. He concluded his report this way: 'The best way to attract men in this diocese to the priesthood, Your Excellency, would be your canonization.'
