A five-hour walk   a twenty-minute drive

the shortest distance   as the crow flies

If time is a straight line   God is the whole page

the landscape through which the road goes

the floodplain through which the river flows

the mountains   & the distant age

when they rose   & when the last star dies

in a conspiracy of light   a home to arrive
