Why here? Why now?

(Found here)

This perfectly describes where I live. It was written by a local poet.

Trees and fields, country roads,
dirt, field crops and grassland,
cows and sheep, small hills,
small streams running
to proper rivers
that grow in spring
like the growing hours of daylight.

Houses here and there
among the barns and sheds.

And distance, always at arms length
small towns, our own less-than town
just there along the river.

We know, you and I,
that the sun passes
over cities as well —
east of here, west, south.

We know the moon too
showing herself again everywhere
slowly turning her back,

but the stars? The stars
are invested here as nowhere else,
with candor, I suppose,
in which we find gravity inertia perspective
& a kind of happiness, sustenance.
