They Die Too Soon

(Found here)

Don’t they know not to bloom so soon
Their beauty stolen by the frosts of Spring
If only they’d wait until all fear has passed
Their frailty would last and last and last
But the sun doesn’t choose to hold back its rays
And the clouds form and hold, what soon they’ll release
Life’s ebbs and flows cannot be contained
When created to grow and created to reach
Toward nourishment and flourishing
And to what calls their name
This is hope on repeat
It will yearn and sing
As a seed that was made
To bloom at this time
Free to open with trust
No worry like mine
