This hymn was sung at the 1915 funeral of Fanny Crosby in the First Methodist Episcopal Church in Bridgeport, Connecticut. It was also sung at the 1945 funeral of American president Franklin Roosevelt, in the East Room of the White House in Washington, D.C.
